I finally played with the pythion that came with my 350p last night. I did not clean the aluminum. Just wanted to see what It would do. I am excited about the potential. I wonder if anyone that uses the machine could give any tips on settings and technique. I really need help to figure out how to weld outside corner joints. I know I need to super ultra clean everything. Just was anxious. If I can get outside corner joints down, I may be able to land a job a lot of work from the guy up the street. THanks yall!The settings are just the wire speed in pulse mode. On 1/8", I believe 6061
Reply:Having a hard time getting my starts down. I have hot start. Need to get into the settings more How hot do you run your corners and what pattern? What does master shovelon have to say?

Reply:Turn off the hot start for now has it is just making it harder for you to learn the machine. For the inside corner joint (t-weld) you should be at a minimum of 250 ipm. We keep the trim at 50 99% of the time. Forget about the stack of dimes look and just run a straight bead. Aluminum you have to weld hot and fast. After you get your settings down and get consistent looking beads, then you can try the whipping or weaving for the stack of dimes look. I've welded at work with a 350P for about 10 years now and just find the hot start to be annoying.

Reply:It is 0.35 4 series. I first tried welding with the recommended settings, at 300" a minute. It blew right through almost instantly. What is the trim? Are their any settings that I should adjust? I will keep everyone updated with progress. I guess pull the trigger and move instantly. I thought the weave would help with the heat? Thank you very much for your time and help:}

Reply:There is an arc control button on the right side of the display. The trim is called "SharpArc". There should be recommended settings in the setup chart tucked into the shelf under the display. I just follow the recommended settings and they are spot on for me.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
