Bought a new Lincoln promig 140 tonight hooked up to gas and gas isn't coming out gun. Returned that one and brought another one home. This one is doing the same thing. Hose is all the way to the stop and definitely no gas coming out. Has the correct end on spool gun as well. Any advice?

Reply:Read the ****in manual and no help!
Reply:You might consider trying it again. Two lincolns in a row with the same problem is very unlikely. I'd be looking at the operator. Is your bottle on? Is your bottle empty? You said spoolgun, does it have it's own valve or rely on the one in the machine? Is your hose hooked up right (rtfm)? My name's not Jim....
Reply:Everything is hooked up right. Getting gas to the bottom of the hose but not out the end. May be something I am doing wrong. That's why I am posting.

Reply:try two things. Loosen gas fitting at the rear of the welder and see if gas leaks out.2nd Pull gun out of drive leave trigger plugged in. turn power on and pull trigger. see if gas comes out the gun block. If you have gas at the gun block. feed out about 3 inches of wire.Put wire into gun and push gun all the way in after taking thumb screw out. Once gun is all the way in put thumb screw back in and tighten, should be good to go.It is very important that the gun is pushed all the way in or no gas can get into the gun.If you have gas at the rear fitting and no gas at the gun block with a trigger pull.Check and see if there is a black hose connected to the gun block next to the thumb screw.Get back here if you still can't get gas through gun. |
