I just found this video of a company beefing up a Dodge truck frame Last edited by gxbxc; 03-26-2015 at 06:44 PM.
Reply:What a great vid.! Wish I had half of those clamps.
Reply:Maybe it isn't a problem where he is. In VT what he just built would be a salt sandwich. In two years the original frame would rust through. Sandwiched layers are a no no in salt covered roads. Even trailer hitches and other accessories I use an old barrel of Texaco Rustproof Compound L. lay on a good coat on both pieces before putting them together. An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.
Reply:Willie, don't worry about the rust. It's a dodge, the rest of the truck will fall apart long before rust will be a problem.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG
