i just got a basket case SA 200F-163.How do i find what year engine and type of engine.i cant get it to turn over ,new battery, cables new gas and it just "bumps no turn overthanks
Reply:There should be a serial # on the face plate of the welder. With that # we can tell you the year manufactured. Water gets into these engines easily through the exhaust pipe where it screws into the manifold and if the flapper on top of the exhaust is missing or leaking. The valves will need to be freed, probably. Sometimes the pistons are seized too. Soaking with Marvel Mystery Oil helps, some use a mixture with diesel too. There are many different types of rust removers out there, just soak for a few days try again. First, if you're going to own an SA200 then go here http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...ualsearch.aspx and get the correct Operator's Manual based on your units Code#. Lincoln has changed their website, you will need to join, after joining go to their website and click on "support" under support you'll find the place to get the operator's manual for your machine. Then put http://billswelderrepair.com/home.html, http://www.weldmart.com/default.htm, http://www.stumpfweldingsupplies.com/index.html and http://www.aws.org/cgi-bin/mwf/board_show.pl?bid=44 in your favorites list for parts and valuable information. Kaye and Bill at Bill's Welder Repair are awesome for telephone technical support and I'm sure the others are as well. And go here http://www.weldmart.com/SA200%20CATA...EST%20FORM.htm to request your free CD on the SA200 from Weldmart No SA200 owner should be without one.Hope this helps!
