Is a #5 dark enough to use with a tig? Thanks in advance.
Reply:Not even close
Reply:Welding Glasses?Do not use any type of goggles/glasses for Mig, Tig, Stick- you need a full face shield. The UV light given off by the electric welding process will burn your face Goggles are allowed for Gas welding because it doesn't give off the harmful UV rays.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:That's why I asked, what auto darkening helmet do you recommend. Probably around 75 to 100 dollars I see Harbor Frieght has a few and the reviews are pretty good.
Reply:Those will do. I started with one and it served me well of a few years until I wanted a much bigger viewing area.I still have it as a back up.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:You may find that with low amp (5-20) tig not all auto helmets work .
