any modifications necessary to run a lincoln ln25 off my stock 1957 sa200 machine? i searched threads and did not easily come to a conclusion....any help would be greatly appreciated!
Reply:I think you don't have to do anything special other than set the LN25 to CC. Note it will not run short arc mig well at all on a CC machine like your SA200. You will need to run large FC wire in spray to get this to work well. If that will do what you want you are good to go, but it usually makes doing Vert and Overhaed a PITA. It will lay down a ton of metal in Flat and Horizontal however very nice..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Oldtimer's kid here. I've never used my ln25 with an sa200, but it worked great on an Eagle 10,000. It's strictly cc and the closest thing I have ever seen to an sa200. Actually it doesn't seem to work that much better off of my XMT304 or my Ranger 275 which both have cv. I used .035 and .045 Lincoln fluxcore on all of them with good luck. Don't ask which wire it was 'cause I can't remember and way too hot here to go outside and look, lol. Same stuff you use in the mini migs.
Reply:I run my LN-25 in CC mode with Innershield off a 48, 54, 64, 66, 74, SA-200. Heres vertical up, and over head. Attached ImagesDont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:thank you everyone for the input....do any of you happen to know the amps and duty cycle for the ln-25? I cant seem to find these specs on Lincolns web site.
Reply:The manual says 500-amps at 60% duty cycle, but with a contactor 300-amps at 60% duty cycle. Very conservative if you ask me!Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400 |
