Reply:Thanks just looking to drill hole with it. I have an old Rockwell table drill press, works good but turns pretty fast on the lowest belt configuration, and the table is a pain, no vise fits it and raising and lowering manually with no crank gets tiresome on big projects.Miller Challenger 172Miller Thunderbolt AC/DC 225/150Miller Maxstar 150 STLVictor 100CVictor JourneymanOxweld OAHarris O/ASmith O/A little torchNo, that's not my car.
Reply:I have one and have one of my vises mounted to a board.  I just clamp that vise to the table top when I am doing something quick.  It has worked well for the projects that I need drilled and for case preparation.  I don't try to mill with it and like it a lot.
Reply:I was gonna go with this brand for my first drill press, but got a screamin' deal on a used Jet.  I have Ridgid reciprocating saw, and had a 14" abrasive chop saw.  I really like the brand.-AaronJet 17.5" Drill Press1942 South Bend 16x84 Lathe1980s Miller 320A / BP --- 2013 Power Mig 2562012 Jet 7x12 Horizontal BandsawVictor O/A Setup

Reply:Bought one on CL a couple years ago for $150.  The reviews at the time were pretty good.http://www.amazon.com/review/R13K67D...R13K67DXMOQ7W1I run mine on the lowest speed and mostly for metal.  Wish it could run slower sometimes.Get some belt slip on it quite a bit of the time, especially when drill bits catch on the way out.  1/2" to 1" bits need slower feed, as do hole saws.  I don't like the cylindrical depth guage, and there is no solid depth "stop" like the Delta machines.  Mine was a little worn and the shaft has a few thousandths more side play (runout?) than I'd like.  I sometimes do relatively precise work with it, and was hoping for a more "milling machine" feel.   Attached Images

Reply:I have one and my 2 beefs are the base being flimsy and the table is too small. The base flex's way too much for me. I would like to get a drill press that's more intended for metal work than wood work like this one. That said, it's better than the HF version in the same size.
Reply:My shop mate has a Rigid. Works fine, but he'd not buy another as the belts are specialty toothed ones and were impossible to get(not even through HD!) when he did finally find some they were phuking retard expensive!!!!! Like 10x the reg price!!! Maybe they've changed them, but I'd really check that first!!!200amp Air Liquide MIG, Hypertherm Plasma, Harris torches, Optrel helmet, Makita angle grinders, Pre-China Delta chop saw and belt sander, Miller leathers, shop made jigs etc, North- welders backpack.
