Reply:I can't bring myself to wear someone else's gear. You can get a new one for 20-30 bucks.
Reply:Check TSC for a fixed lens helmet. If you go online and shop try the Jackson, Miller.Lincoln, and there is one or two more but I can not think of it right now. Those have a name that they stand behind They have some of the cheaper models but those are know to good for starters. . Watch out for the cheap (poor quality) stuff that is online. Reply:If you buy old ones like that you have to also buy new cover lenses because they old ones are to dirty and scratched so it's hard to see. Head gear can also be worn out.Buy a new one instead.

Reply:I have a big window fixed Jackson HSL-100 like the one on the left. New I think they run about $30-35. Personally I like that hood a lot, but $20 might be a bit high. As mentioned you'd want to look at the condition of the lens and the clear cover lens on that one would be the 1st thing I'd replace. Of the protective shade lens is scratched or pitted because someone used it without the clear protective cover, or the head gear is damaged, it will cost you as much as new to replace them.Honestly I'd just spend the extra $15-20 and buy a new Jackson HSL-100 on line if I couldn't find one local. Personally I think my Jackson with a good quality glass filter lens is every bit as clear and crisp as my $300 Miller AD hood. My original is over 25 years old and I have 2 newer ones I've gotten as spares for other people..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:I got attacked as a snob once before when I suggested that your eyes are irreplaceable. A good helmet is important enough to prioritize. I stand by my original statement. Your eyes can't be fixed. I can accept a passive helmet, many prefer it. They are cheaper. Get one that gives protection. An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.
