Got this beauty made from Double Eagle LeatherSmith. To nice to use for work. The craftsmanship and quality is awesome. Should last me a long time. I know not a welding project. But is is a piece of gear I use everyday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:It is a welding cuff or arm pad. Keeps you from frying the off hand arm when resting on a pipe or piece your welding. Really popular in the pipeline world.  Killdozerd look up Double Eagle LeatherSmith on Facebook. It's my family's business. I think there are a few more pics on there not100%  thoSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:Wow amazing, and the highest quality craftsmanship.  Looks GREAT!
Reply:Excellent work and a good arm saver.  Not being critical but I wonder what it's going to look like after about a year of scrubbing around on hot pipe. All the old pipeliners I knew just used one arm from a set of leather sleeves. They spent all their money on hootch instead of nice protection devices.Back in the dark ages I did leather work as a second job. I made a ton of fancy tooled western belts, quite a few gun belts and holsters, some knife sheaths, and even built one tooled saddle and one was enough. Now I only do an occasional belt or holster as a hobby. Boy, has good leather gotten expensive. I'm going to go check out your family's website. I enjoy looking at nice leatherwork.
Reply:Thanks oldtimer. I have had another one that has held up fairly well. Leather has gotten really high priced. Thanks for looking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:@ specopswelder - beautiful work, talented family, and cool website.  Will they create a leather "heat shield" for use with MIG dual shield and spray arc?  Would go over the non-trigger hand's glove, as you know.  Those cheap silver covers you see at the LWS are ghetto. Will have to dive deeper into your website "Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi

Reply:Could probably come up with something like that. I do t know how well it would handle heat compared to that space blanket thing. Would look better tho. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
