Got the Pm300 set up with the Python. Messed around with it trying to figure out where to start on 1/8 5052 alum. Had trouble getting a good weld down. However once I got some thicker alum the PM300 really shined. Layed down some good welds. Looking for WFS and volts for the 1/8 material for T joints,outside/inside corners and butt joints. Just looking for a starting point. Also using .035 wire 4043 Thanks.Lincoln Power Mig 300 with PythonLincoln SquareWave Tig 255 Hypertherm Powermax 45 HH120 w/argon
Reply:when welding AL. its hot and fast or you burn through. Throw out what you know about adjusting for short arc welding. This is spray arc and some times you do the opposite of what you think you need to do. Best way to adjust is to set your volts by the wire spec sheet. set the wire speed faster than you need and then slow it down until the arc sounds right. Starting with the fast speed saves tips.
