Hi everyone I'm looking for some feed back of owners of the PT 225. I have done a search but not found alot it seems everyone is pushing the miller syncrowaves. What are your likes and dislikes and would you choose some thing different. I do automotive restorations and looking to do some fab work with turbos and intercoolers. Any help and or suggestions would be great. Also are you having the issues with blowing breakers as with a lot of the syncrowaves or is it just having the correct power supply. I have a Hobart 187 mig but wanting a tig to go with it. Thanks Phillip.Last edited by lethal6; 08-19-2011 at 08:46 AM.Reason: Misspelling
Reply:You will always have breaker problems if your service is to small. A 50 amp service will support these welders up around 125 amps. Any higher and you run into the tripping breaker problem it you weld to long. You can always put in a 100 amp service and not have to worry.Check the power requirement page in the owner's manual. You can down load either brand from their web sites for free.
Reply:Thanks for the information. Hopefully I can get by the LWS and check out the different units.
Reply:Iv owned mine for about six months,,it works great and I run it off a 50amp breaker no problem. I had a nice ESAB 252 it worked great too but was always throwing the breaker on start up....check out the link below for the comparisonhttp://www.lincolnelectric.com/asset...and_mc0886.pdfEsab Multimaster 260Esab Caddy160IEsab 161 STLESAB powercut 650Esab 220i tigLincoln Precision Tig 225Lincoln IdealArc 250INE SKYLINE 1500Klutch 140iMEASURE TWICE IS FOR MORONS

Reply:My first Esab 252 would throw a breaker once and a while. (new machine on a 100 amp breaker) Just loading the caps or something. Never when running hard. My current machine never had that issue. (black face model) The Lincoln 225 is a good machine, and the extra amps over the 200 amp machines is noticeable. The Miller syncro 200 has a softer type of ac arc. Pretty nice too.Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
