How should I set my 1964 Lincoln SA 200 when welding a SCH 80 Pipe, at a 45 degree angle with a 6010 P5 Plus electrode.
Reply:Uphill or downhill? Second gear (120-90) & 60 amps is a good starting place. 55 to 65 amps depending on your machine. If you're going uphill increase your amps. This is for 1/8" rod. 5/32" will be third gear (190-120) same amps.Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money. -Cree Indian ProverbSA 200 LincolnVictor Torches
Reply:If you had a Cable remote, you could copy my settings. But as we all know, everybody welds differently, and every machine welds differently. Reply:Wow, thats a pretty fancy looking box you got there CEP, I 'd bet whatever the cord leads to looks nice to. When using 6010, I like to stay in the lowest gear I can, and keeping fine adjust on high end. Brcause a little overlamp in amperage between gears can be made by using fine adj. By doing it that way, you lessen the chaces of popout, and can hold a longer arc. Thats good humor Gizard, I never thought about my sa 200 being a 5- speed.
