Been working on this fence for about 2/3 weeks now... School and running a start-up company take most of my time (and money)...Here are some progress pics...I had to pour the thin concrete footer to give a strong base for the last leg of the fence. All-together its about 45 feet long and is made up of 5/8", 1", 2" and 1.5" square tube...Precision TIG 225MillerMatic 250Powermax 35XPPowermax 65TM 4X4 w/ water tableLagun FTV1Monarch 10EEJD2 M3 with hydro conversion
Reply:Are you planning on cutting down those mounting studs? Tuff on bare feet... just sayin'.
Reply:You should have used shoes on the posts so the anchor studs wouldn't show.

Reply:Yes, the studs will be cut down once that segment is finished, removed for paint and then re-installed. I was thinking about using a shoe for that post, but then i would of had to get some for all the other posts and i would have to find some that were big enough to cover a decent mounting pad. In the end I didn't see it as being that big of an issue to warrant all the extra work. I will be looking into getting some big acorn nuts for all of the post's mounting studs though. The fence isn't finished yet, there will be a section attached to the post with the square mounting base that connects to the white pillar and then another from the wooden fence to the opposite side of said pillar. The wife wants it white (I told her black is better but i was out-voted), has anyone sprayed the tractor and implement paint from tractor supply? Will it be any good? I also got a Sherwin Williams close by if they carry something better.Precision TIG 225MillerMatic 250Powermax 35XPPowermax 65TM 4X4 w/ water tableLagun FTV1Monarch 10EEJD2 M3 with hydro conversion
Reply:I used the AC orange tractor paint from TSC on my sons gokart and am happy with it. I think the brand is "Majic"? It seems pretty durable so far.Safety 3rdGump
Reply:Nice looking fence!
Reply:Nice fence, bullit proof! Q: on the first pic, the hinge seem to be installed "inverted" as not supporting the gate's weight, was that on purpose against removal of the gate ? |
