So... Been a while since I've posted here. I only call when I need something. Boo. I've been at this for about ten years, bought a 211 last year, got a homemade stick machine... all the other hand tools and whatnot that go along with this business.... The dream has been for a few years to get my own Bobcat or Trailblazer or something... and finally take on some contracting jobs, making my own money, doing what I love, maybe a little travel... as well as the obvious repair jobs I'd be able to do on the fly. I'm finally at that point where it might just be possible...But I'd like to have a few more ideas in mind for how to make some money with a mobile rig. I'm not looking for pipeline work. Just need some things that can be fairly steady to pay the bills. So, any great ideas you've got about ways to get started in the world of mobile welding...I'd appreciate hearing them. Also, if you have any real arguments for why I should spend extra money on a trailblazer or something else over a Bobcat 250, let's hear that too please. I figure I'll take the 211 along on jobs where I might need to MIG something. Plug it straight in, should have plenty of power even if I went with a 225... Looking at that Miller rebate right now, thinking 500 bucks in free leads, gloves, and rods sounds pretty sweet. Cheers, everyone.Millermatic 211 Miller Blue Fire 140@swiftwelding on Instagram
Reply:If you want to do tig off the engine drive, the TB has a 14 pin connection that allows you to use a remote. The Bobcat does not..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:True. Probably not going to be using TIG off the truck anytime soon , though.Millermatic 211 Miller Blue Fire 140@swiftwelding on Instagram
