I am looking at getting a MM210 and I was wondering if anybody had any problems or complaints about it. I don't know when I'm going to get it my mind changes everyday so I was wondering what the epinions were. Thanks, Don
Reply:DonThe only complaint I have is that I don't have one!!!!  Matter of fact, that's the only complaint I've heard. Don
Reply:Mine is costing me a fortune. everytime I turn around I have to buy more metal to weld.
Reply:Its a good machine,just get it u'll be glad u did!!
Reply:i just think that if mr miller made a better welder than a 210 he kept it for him self. i have had a mm 150 for years. there is a world of differance in the two   ken w
Reply:I've got a 210, and love it, however, I had to take it in for service. they ended up baking the transformer, and re-coating it to keep it from "buzzing" when it was idle, but on.  this was REALLY frustrating, especially when it had to go back for a SECOND time for the same problem ( only a couple rolls of wire were put through it, and never at max output.  I was without welder for a month).  Don't get me wrong, I love the welder, and it works great now, but I was very unhappy with the situation, especially when the miller rep was not surprised at the failure, and considering the $$4 the machine cost.....
Reply:I recently purchased the MM 210 and absolutely love it, but then again I love Miller welders. I had a minor problem setting up the welder and I couldn't have asked for a better technical support Unit. I would never buy a welder from any competitor after having Miller for over 25 years. Keep up the great work Thank youPS the MM 210 doesn't come with the spring to utilize small spools and when I contacted Miller they sent me the spring at no charge now thats what keeps me coming back
Reply:Gocc one. Love it no problems....

Reply:Alright thanks I will look at the mm210 then.
Reply:I am having trouble I don't know if I need that much power so far what I have welded I don't need a 210. I just don't want to waste money when I could use it somewhere else. I don't plan on making anything that big either. I was also looking at the Hobart handler 180. But the only thing that I am not sure about is the drive wheels, they look all plastic and cheap.

Reply:I had a MM 185 the predecessor to the MM 210.  It was a decent machine no complaint other than it lacked the duty cycle I needed.  I have since upgrade to a MM 251 and MM350P.  If you can swing the 251 (they go for ~$1700, base unit) or you can buy a complete package for the about the same with a 210.PKG,MM210/SPOOL 3035/DUAL CYL RACK/REGULATOR&HOSE 951006   $2116.00 list. Reply:Dman:I've never seen a post that said "Gee I wish I bought a smaller welder".At your age, I'd  wait and save the the extra money to get the MM210. That machine is a lifetime investment. I really like mine, it has given me excellent service. Using a bigger machine on light work is a lot easier than pushing a smaller machine at a low duty cycle. The problem with the MM251 is that they include the same gun (M25) that comes with the MM210. if your going to use the 251 to its full pontential you will need a heavier gun. I hope Aaron will chip in with his experiencesBe sure to budget for gas, wire, and other necessities. If you're not in a hurry wait until Miller has one of their "package sales" that include a spoolgun package, or other goddies.Of course with my luck I needed the machine when there was no sale. But I managed to pickup my spool gun on "Ebay" for a decent price. Attached Images
Reply:Thanks Fla Jim I guess I should wait. I don't need it soon this fall I am going to a local college to learn welding and hopefully I will learn what welder I want. I am still saving money so I have time to think about it. I just keep thinking I don't need that much power but I am sure I could use at some point.
Reply:Don't need that much power?  Jim, he doesn't want to hear from me.My house has 200A service.  My truck is a 1-ton w/ a 454.  My welder is a MM251.  Power is the name of the game.  You can never have enough, let alone too much.... Really, if you can swing a MM210, that is a great machine.  I have been through 5 machines in just over three years, starting with a small crapsman 90A MIG, then the HH135, upgraded to the HH175, then bought a T/A 185 TIG, which I sold to buy my MM251.  Notice that my machines never once got smaller.    While I have yet to max out my MM251, I do occasionally push it a little.  I cannot imagine having anything smaller than a 210 as my primary machine. The M25 gun that comes with the MM210/MM251 is a great little gun, with lots of available accessories.  It is absolutely fine for the MM210, and for SC with the MM251 (provided it's not a production shop).  I have one and use it for most of my welding.  But when I get into big projects, or spray work I switch to the C4015 Roughneck gun.  Now that's a nice gun.  It is heavy for fine work, but much smaller than the other 400A guns I have used.  It is much better suited for production.
Reply:Do they have those package sales frequently?  If so, how's the best way to hear about them so I don't miss out?
