hi i have a bluestar 185 was wondering what i would need to start trying tig with it im pretty sure it only has dc+ tig but would still like to learn thanks!
Reply:also wondering what im limited to with dc+tig i wanted to do aluminum but i dont think i can
Reply:DC polarity is simply determined by which lead is connected to which weld output stud and for TIG it's DCEN (Direct Current Electrode Negative) with the electrode being your TIG torch. DCEP TIG is very limited and will destroy your tungsten in short order.Yes, aluminum typically requires AC but can be done on DC with helium although not something to be taken on as a beginner in addition to the expense of the helium - if your local gas supplier has it.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
