Anyone ever used a Miller AC/DC thunderbolt as a tig source?I have heard some conflicting reports. This would be for a home use type set up.Thoughts? Thanks, Doc.Some of the things I do would cause a person to get hurt, expelled, arrested, or possibly deported. To put it another way, don't try this at home.Look at the stars whenever your can. That light travelled a long way to get here, dont let it go to waste on some patch of asphalt.
Reply:It all depends on how good a TIG machine you expect to end up with. You can add a HF unit and get it to do AC TIG, but you won't be able to set it up with a foot pedal, so your control is limited. Same for DC. IMHO, you'd be a lot better off just spending your $$ on a rig designed for what you want.Hank |
