I was offered the chance to buy a Short hood welder, welds good, but fine adjustment didn't work.  In checking it out the wire that schematics show as blue wire does not come out of generator housing.  It has already been converted to a electronic board for idle control, I am sure the board will need to be replaced.  What size and type of wire would match factory, any suggestions as to replacing, shortcuts etc??  after welding with it I bought it for the asking price of $700.oo came with 50' ground 100' stinger leads all mounted on a trailer.
Reply:It may be possible the color of the wire may have been changed in a repair at some point. You will have to count the wires coming out and check against the diagram and then trace them out. Coming out of the generator are large and small wires. Large wires are weld and small wires are control. See the sticky thread and the other SA 200 threads here, lots of good information. Just have to dig through it. Look for the free CD that offers Parts and repair information.
Reply:Thanks for the reply, I used a diagram and was tracing wires back to points of origin.  That was when I realized that I was one wire short All the wires are faded so there is no hint of orginal color on any of them.  I am trying to tag them with the colors from the chart I have.  Are you talking about the free CD from Weldmart?  It is supposed to be enroute.
