Reply:I presume we're talking about a Continental mill.One thought - The small line may be an engineered restriction that keeps the filter circuit from bleeding-off too much volume.And of course the feed is still via 1/8" NPT fittings.What are the claimed benefits?Good Luck

Reply:More flow is all I can think of if the hole in the block will let it flow more. My thought is what size is the hole that feeds it? I dont know, I see pics on Weldmart and Bills welder repair. Reply:probably would benefit more from capacity increase than flow increase. Some have the stainless hose lines and a bigger filter, some use hydraulic lines. Reply:As stated in post #7, by-pass filter flow is orifice controlled to prevent a severe loss in oil pressure regardless of line size.  Whether an older style cartridge or later spin-on type filter, both control total flow rate by way of an orifice as shown below.Spin-on control orifice (red arrow) is on the 'return to sump' outlet of the filter.  Black arrows point to filter inlet openingsCartridge filter orifice is located in the inlet riser tube (yellow arrow).  Notice it's the same size as the spin-on filter control orifice.Riser tube is unrestricted and the cover bolt seals off flow to force oil thru the control orifice.A larger filter would extend filter change intervals but even without the orifice photos I would have called 'myth' on any Big Line Kit claims to better filtration. Reply:Duane, good info on the filtration system!  My onan gererator plant uses the same Continental engine, F162 and uses a Wix c3p filter. Maybe useful to some.  Thanks  Bob.
