Learned today my TIG tests successfully PASSED macro-etcing and destructive testing. Stoked! The samples achieved visual two weeks prior. Passed '3F' on 1/8" thick mild steel and stainless steel (D1.1, Structural), in addition to '5F' on 1.5" OD x .065" wall 4130N CrMo (D17.1, Aerospace, Group 1B). The '5F' test was def challenging, but after slowing down and zen'n the torch around the circumference with fluidity finally tamed her. Used all RED gear.Requested imagery of the samples/results from the test facility. No dice. Only documentation will be provided. The day of the test, the iPhone was sans power. Figures. Ha! Next time. The journey continues.... Reply:Seems quite thick for aerospace work. What exactly are you working on? When I did it, my D17.1 cert tests were 0.250" dia.x 0.016" wall tube in 5F, 0.250" dia.x 0.016" & 0.035" wall tube in 6G on both stainless, income, and cobalt.... In any fashion, congratulations.-Hillbilly
