I have a Lincoln Ranger 10,000 Plus. I just picked up an LN-25 which I'm hoping will be a great flux core companion for the machine. I've been wire welding for a couple of years now, but only with my HH180, which is a great little machine, but I HATE that it doesn't show real voltages and wire feed speeds (just 1, 2, 3, 4, etc). It makes it so much more difficult to just step up to another machine and know how to use it. Is wire feed speed 3 the same on this machine as that one? Probably not. All machines should have IPM and real V or A printed on the faceplate, lol. But I digress...My question is about the Ranger in CV mode (which I've never used before.) I see that the range switch has a CV option, and then that the fine adjustment dial has red for CV around it too, so I'm assuming I can adjust the voltage by turning the adjustment dial, right? What am I selecting though? I read the Ranger's manual cover to cover and this must be so obvious to everyone else that they don't feel the need to explain it. I think the Ranger's CV range is 16-25V, so since that dial goes from 1 to 10, is 1 equal to 16V and 10 equal to 25V when in CV mode? So if my chart says 220 IPM and 22.5 V, do I put the fine adj around 8?Thanks for the feedback. I'm looking forward to playing around but won't be back near my machine for several months.
Reply:I also have an LN25 and a Ranger, I bought it as more of an insurance policy for now and have not been able to get it to run right.. When I get time and motivation to fire it up again, I can let you know how it works. I have since read that the CC/CV switch in the LN25 needs to match the Ranger settings also which might have been the error I made. Can you post a picture of the cover of the LN25 face by chance?14' PowerMig 210 MP13'Burntables 5x10 CNC Table14' SAE300 HE on a 12' Ram 4500 60 CA 4x4.
