Front light bar for chevy

So i was flipping through a trucking magazine and came across a light bar on front of a truck. I liked it so i looked up the pricing and wow . So i decided to just build one im new to the fourm so take it easy on me this is the one in the mag  this is the before i bent it to contour to the bumper. got it bent and painted  got it put on and my lights mounted  now these are my head lights they are the 10k hid bulbs the camera dosent realy pick up the blue light. and here are the new off road lights  they are not aimed yet in this pic so they are aiming together. by the way they are the 6 inch harbor freight lights with my modification to them the pics really don't do them justice. Reply:I help out on a farm so i like the lights at night when were filling drills or the planter. And the ones i looked at was around 100-200 bucks. Reply:here is the harbor frieght light mod its totaly worth it. Reply:You link to the HF mod doesn't work.I would also agree you did a great job, but if you want to be able to bump/hit stuff.  (understand it was a fence post) a full bumper/brush guard is the best bet.The bolt on brush guards are junk if you want them to work, for looks fine.

I am thinking of a light bar for my truck. Do you have an opinion on mounting one lower (I would incorporate it into a custom bumper). I have only noticed them mounted above the windshield - not sure if that's just cause it's easier or because it's better in some way.
Reply:I have a dual flood/spot light bar mounted high, I would say in hind sight, I would like it mounted in front of the grill better. As it is now, the amount of light it puts off it lights up the hood A LOT!There are no problems. There are only solutions. Reply:I have mine mounted on my headache rack and it starts to throw light more or less at the point where my headlights end and it doesn't glare off the hood at all

Reply:I've got the 32" and two spots on the front and two rear facing spots on the back. I couldn't imagine needing 50" as the 32" puts out more than enough light. If you mount it further back, like the headache rack, it wouldn't glare as bad. but mine is right above the top of the windshield.
