Flatbed build

I have the frame built up for my flatbed and wondering if I should paint the top of the cross members before putting the deck on? The deck will be steel. If so what kind of primer should I use as I will be welding the deck down.I hope to get some pictures uploaded soon.Thanks,Matt
Reply:I don't see how it would hurt anything, but it's not a common practice. Enough will get burnt off from welding that I don't see much advantage.
