Some Dual Shield On Lowboy Semi Trailers

This is .045 and 1/16 esab 710xm wire. This is a 4 axle fontaine lowboy. I picked up a hand held bevel mill at a shop close out auction. Man is this thing sweet! Makes beveling plate easy. Let me know what you guys think. Reply:Looks good and I've done near that same type repair a couple of times. Happens more than one likes to admit with sticky valves.....Dual Shield is great wire in high strength applications when the machine is set up right to run it. Been thinking of purchasing a bevel machine myself for an upcoming project. Is yours' a "Heck" brand? Have you tried it across the short sides and center webs of beams? I'm interested to know how flexible they are to use as I'm tiring of grinding......Thanks,SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:Slob, Thank you, Yes mine is a Heck 8000. Works well. Just have to be careful not to chip the carbide bits. Not sure if it would work good in the center of a beam, because the guide sticks out a few inches further than the cutters. If you catch my drift. All in all it makes a nice bevel. Reply:I used to have the Heck 4000 with the big old fashion B/D grinder motor,  the important thing is get the cutter up to speed before you contact the metal, I broke a few inserts but as long as they are not next to each other it doesn't affect the cut.If you have the pipe guide you can bevel pipe as well as plate Oh and millerman that is some heavy duty welding there, looks great.
