Miller CST 280

Does anyone have experience with the Miller CST 280? I'm looking for something that will do pipe and would run off of a standard single phase 50 amp circuit.RonL
Reply:Well, I bought A Miller CST 280.  In particular, the 208-230/460 model with Dinse connectors.  It came with the male connectors that plug into the machine.  My initial impressions were that it was a solid, well made unit.  I wired up the power plug and turned it on.  It went through it's power up sequence and was ready to go.  I connected the Dinse plugs to a stinger and ground clamp.  I plugged them in and turned them to lock them. And turned them.  And turned them.  They would not lock in.  I'm a little disgusted.  Am I missing something?RonL

Reply:There is only one way to install the lead.  It is connected solidly to the fitting with a set screw.
Reply:Brought the machine back to the supply house.  We tried another set of male Dinse connectors and they locked in.  The male connectors supplied with the welder were way out of spec. Will post a detailed review of the machine when i figure out how to do a long post without getting logged out.RonL
