Can the HF feature be easily added onto the maxstar 150? Does it have to go back to Miller, or can a welding shop, or I install it? It would help sometimes to have the HF start, especially on tiny parts.
Reply:There is only one Miller Maxstar 150 unit that has HF arc start as an option, and the HF feature is already built into the unit straight from the factory. This unit would be the Maxstar 150 STH which is a stick/TIG combo unit, that in TIG mode offers the choice of either a HF arc start or lift arc start, depending on how you program the unit to function.A Maxstar 150 S is strictly a stick welder.A Maxstar 150 STL is a stick/ TIG combo.
