Thank you for your help with the Syncrowave machines
I looked into the inverter as suggested, so am now interested in the Dynasty 200DXI plan to weld ¼ Steel and ¼ AluminumMy power available is 230V 30ASound like a good way to go?
Reply:I would say so. The Dynasty can also weld on 120 current. If I had the dough,I would buy one.
Reply:1/4 " is pushing the machine a bit. It can do it but it has to be pluges into a 240v 30+amp set up. I have one and its great. really handy when doing mobile stuff.the thief of hearts www.jamfab.com
Reply:the dyn200DX is a sweet little unit for shore, wish i could have afforded one. i try-ed for about 3 years and finally settled for the TA-185. for me its great as I'm just a hobby kind of thing any way so the extra $$ just wasn't in the works. you should be real happy with it. on 1/4" you will be pushing it purity hard so your duty cycle will be low but doable. and with only 30amps to work with its your best option for the job. congrats on the new welder, if you have the $$ get it you will not be disappointed. i spend a lot of time on the miller board and see lots of new dyn200DX owners and they all love them. thats what they use for TIG classes at the weld shop where i get dimensions of welders for the covers i make. the owner said they are a rock solid welder and user friendly. he has 8 back in the class room and has not had any problems with them. cool little work station he has back there with a dyn200 on the right and a MM175 on the left with a wall around the table and the same thing on the back side. looks real nice, check out the pic.just keep in mind if you get a dyn200DX or any inverter for that matter DO NOT BALL THE TUNG. and stay away from pure tungsten. i find lanthanated 2% to work best. most on the miller site use 2%or 1.5% lanthanated or 2% cerated with the dynasty's. keep in mind the cerated is intended for DC only and can split if used on AC but the lanthanated is great on both AC and DC. the dyn comes with cerated i believe, the best ting to do is get some of them all to try out and see what suits you best, the newer try-mix tung. are also real nice. diamond ground will send you some free samples to try out if you ask them and there $ for preground tung. is not bad. a good bunch of people to deal with also. keep in mind tung. grind will have a large effect on the arc and performance. arc-zone.come sells a real nice little hand held grinder for about $250.00 a lot of people really like it.keep us posted on when you get it and feel free to ask questions as needed, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
