I got a Century stick welder (model 110-089) recently and I think it came with the wrong leads. Or at least, leads with the wrong ends. Can anyone identify what these ends might go to?FYI I think I've found the correct ends ("machine connectors") for this welder from another post on this forum (http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...829#post545829).Thanks!
Reply:Why not just get yourself a LENCO  catalog and update your machine to something more standard like a DINSE.
Reply:I have an old Craftsman AC buzz box that has the same front panel plugs as yours and it takes a tapered machine plug. Have a feeling this is what you will need https://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?m...oducts_id=9094, they are available in red & black. The one on the end of your leads appears to be a small 250a Lenco/Tweco connector that some guys around here install on their machines so other guys who have standard LC40's will not steal their leads or hook up to their machine.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:You can view or download the LENCO catalog here:  http://www.profax-lenco.com/"USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder

Reply:The LENCO UP-10 in red and black fit the Century machines as mentioned in the above posts.Another source:https://weldingsupply.com/cgi-bin/ei...:8:UNDEF::::PAhttp://weldingsupply.com/cgi-bin/spi...||1|503

Reply:I ordered a set of the Lenco LC-10MP connectors for my old Miller "61" buzz box for my son to learn on. Somebody snapped off the original work lead in the socket, (I won't admit who)......SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....

Reply:OP here - thanks for all the comments. Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving (if you're in the US...)Anyway I decided to keep the female ports on the welder as they are, since being AC/DC obviously there are 4 the cost to replace all + the two lead ends seemed significantly more than just the tapered ends. Hopefully I won't regret that in the future... also there is something to "not broke don't fix it" at least until I have some hours in on this machine and can weigh additional pros / cons as I learn them. Always possible to change it later if needed. The ends it came with which I have now removed with seem to be really beat up, but I guess I'll hang on to them just in case they turn out useful for something else later. There were some other oddball things about this welder (typical of second hand / Craigslist purchases in my experience) which I'll mention...Primary power cable was #10 though the machine decal calls for #8. Obviously this must have sufficed for the prior owner (low usage / low duty cycle?). BUT this cable was fitted with a 30A locking-style plug. From there a pigtail was made up using #14 (!) cord which went from a matching 30A locking female receptacle to a 60-50P type plug. On BOTH ends of this pigtail there was melted plastic inside the plugs around the conductors! Some of this was visible externally if you looked closely. The #10 & #14 cables themselves actually seem OK (though I may chuck them just in case the insulation on the inside is heat damaged). The cord where it attached to the machine had pulled out of the cable clamp and exposed the inner stranded wires (though just the insulation).Based on some woodworking machines I've gotten from CL I know to look for this kind of thing but I guess it's always worth double (or triple) checking anything second hand for craziness! Anyway its now all been wired appropriately and given a once-over, ready for power test which is pending getting the receptacle wired up to a new breaker in the garage... maybe later this week.Dave
