Hi folks,I recently bought a Yeswelder 250P TIG machine. It came with a WP-27 torch, but I also wanted a smaller torch for lighter work. I had also bought one of their "consumables" kits which came with extra collets and cups, and also some gas lenses and their collets. For a smaller torch I ordered a WP-17F.The first problem I had was that the kit only came with one gas lens insulator. It, and the gas lenses themselves, fit fine in both of my torches. I ordered two different packs of "WP-17 gas lens insulators" from Amazon, but none of those fit. I was finally able to get one - a WeldTec 10NQG - from a local shop which was a decent fit. I would have thought that WP-17 was some sort of standard, but that appears not really to be the case. Can someone tell me more about that?The second problem was when I found that the WP-17 torch wouldn't fit the hose that came with my 250P. So I ordered a WP-17 hose (57Y01R), which fits the torch fine, but doesn't fit the welder connection. The hose description says "Rear connection is 3/8-24RH thread for 105Z57. Front connection fits WP-9 and WP-17 series torch body." The two connections look pretty much the same, and are smaller than either end of the OE hose that came with the welder. Are there adapters I can get to connect this hose to the 250P?Lastly, anyone know of any tricks to force the 250P to stay in analog pedal control mode, rather than switching back to on/off?Thanks, Paul
Reply:For the WP-17 hose to connect to the welder, I found that I needed a key shaped adapter (105z57 power cable adapter). It was about $10 from Amazon.
Reply:How recently did you purchase the machine? If you are still in the return window, return it and purchase either a Primeweld, AHP or Weldpro. These three machines are far superior to the YesWelder and similar in price.
