New Wire Spool

So, I noticed I've just gone through my first 2lb spool of flux wire. Finished goofin' with some 1/4" plates,opened the door and there's one more loop of wire. My question???? Do I pull the wire out of the liner or start a new roll and push the 10' of wire through? I hate wasting 10 plus feet of wire. Also will it weld ok? Wasn't sure if the remaining wire would perform properly.  THANKS
Reply:That's 10' of wire you have to waste. No way around it. Reply:Well if it was .030 flux core then there are about 5400 inches per pound, so two pounds would have been 10,400 inches. Minus the 120 inches you lose that means you only get 10,280 inches of usage. In the scale of things it's not something to worry a lot about. Of course .035 only has 4000 inches per pound.
