Ok, don't ask how it happened, but I cut too large a section for some patch panels. They are about 1/2 inch too large on each side. My "in my head" math must have been off. What would be the best way to fill these gaps? Should I cut some strips and weld on both sides? I need some help.Thank you in advance.
Reply:Well thatawould work for drywall, so why not sheet metal?
Reply:What are you working on? If it is just a patch panel there is a panel bonding adhesive that can be used. It is callled Fusor. You could cut a strip of metal and bond it in place with the adhesive. It can also be used to bond the entire panel in place. Fusor on amason http://www.amazon.com/LORD-FUSOR-109B/dp/B0015PI6ICFusor dispensing gunhttp://www.amazon.com/Lord-Fusor-LOR.../dp/B000ZK3124The gun is somewhat expensive but if you do a lot of bodywork the savings in grinding and metalworking the weld will pay for it.If you have pictures of the repair area it would help in providing advice.
Reply:It is automotive. My camera is on the fritz but it is a door jamb section. I am in the process of converting my 4 dr wagon into a 2 door wagon, but I (like my original post had stated) cut out too much and now the door jamb just falls out. way too much gone.
Reply:The peice you cut out is probably to thin to weld in a newer one and make a good fix then make the replacement a larger and cut of the replacement part for a proper fit.I've seem guys cut frame members to short, I quess it happens.
