Just replaced my CL tank from local dealer and the pressure reads 1500psi on my meter. Dealer said it should be 2000 or 2200. They also said they had no meter for me to check it at store. Also suggested I should be using 15-20 psi on the output side. Is it time to find a different welding supply company?
Reply:The CO2 in your bottle is stored in a liquid form.Pressure will vary somewhat based on temperature. Seldom will a full bottle of CO2 read 2000-2200 PSI even when full.The only way to accurately tell if you got a full bottle is to weigh it. ressure in a CO2 tank means nothing, can have a 20 pounder with one pound left in it at the same pressure as a full one.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
