Reply:Well it might not make economic sense but you get the old at-a-boy feeling. And if the part is no longer available, you saved the starter. I machined a shower door hinge from aluminum stock for a customer. He would have had to change to newer style door. Expensive hinge, but cheaper than door and labor to change.Again, Nice JobPeter

Reply:Hey MM, that's NICE!!!!!Remember when the solenoid was about as big as a can of V8 juice sittin' on a starter about as big as a can of Folgers?  Double reduction Chrysler starter rebuilt about 40 bucks.Now fast forward.........New starters look about as big as a Bic lighter, but replacement cost.......near on 300 bucks.I LOVE PROGRESS.Nice job, way above my skill level"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
