Couple of small art projects I did recently.Rose I made from scrap SS for my Mother In Law this summer.Luggage Rack that I cut out and welded together for my motorcycle.

uggage rack? What do you do, just impale the luggage onto the points of the flames? The rose turned out pretty nice. Maybe a little -carefully- applied heat from a torch could let you add some oxidation colors to the metal. Shrug. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...

Reply:VERY cool. Bet you could make that rose any color you want by shining a small colored light on it. Red, yellow, orange, etc.
Reply:Thanks for the nice comments guys, the Rose was a little bit of work considering what it is, probably about 40hrs. Yes, Marine, I did really like my MIL, sadly she passed on 7/17/10, I was grateful that I was able to complete it and give it to her about a week before she passed. Yes, MoonRise, the picture dosent do it justice as the heat from the welding did create a load of different shades, reds, blues, blacks. browns. I polished the tips with a Dremel, and the leaves. Bert the SS is 22ga, it was cut out of sheets I picked up from some SS Ductwork in the Plant where I work, I used a tin snips, next time I use the Plasma cutter, then they were hammered out on the anvil, it took a bit but I eventually got the feel for hammering the shape I was looking for after that it went rather quickly. I will try to post a pic of the Bike soon. Once again thanks for the nice compliments guys, to me this work dosent even come close to some of the stuff I've seen on some of the threads here.
