I saw this on Kijiji today.... looked a hot item to me!It seemed to me that for you folks with a plasma cutter and a welder, this might be a good way to make a few bucks... especially as cottage season is coming. Reply:I'm guessing they have a CNC plasma to cut these out along with the roller..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:We made some firepits up for some friends last year. Pretty useful to have plasmacam for stuff like this. Attached Imageshttp://www.bend-press.com

Reply:hotrodmetal shows you don't neccessarily have to have something to roll the steel to make one of these, just flat plate to make as many sides as you want.

Reply:Here's one I made last year. This ring is 1/8" thick, 12" tall and a 36" diameter. I got it at my local steel supplier rolled for $20. I have a Hypertherm 45 but I don't have a CNC plasma cam so the designs aren't as fancy. I just downloaded some clipart and traced some templates out of an old mud flap using a Dremel tool.I learned that the corners can't be too sharp as I can't get the plasma tip in tight. I had to free hand some of the outline. But, I'm pleased with the results.
