So they just skated this bad mother into my building yesterday evening and we got her under power today. Tomorrow we throw dies in her and get her back to work.

250 ton 12' accupress. Reply:It's Accur with an R. I worked in a shop that had the exact same Accurpress and an Accurshear 10' x 1/4" shear. I think the brake was good for 12' x 3/8" plate? They used it for building mud tanks and oilfield buildings primarily and even super heavy duty Ford truck bumpers that looked like the original but were 1/2" thick! Oddly enough they never made a die for bending the frames for 5/8" mud gates and they were bent with a jig and a rosebud. Accurpress are some of the best presses made. The operator made his own custom toolbox that was pretty trick. Unfortunately, the owner of the shop was always yelling and screaming about anything and everything. I only stayed 5 month's and he only yelled at me once but actually showed me how to tap on a the radial arm drill. The time he yelled at was because I was in the tool room checking the bins to see what hinges and other parts were getting low and needed new ones made. That was job mainly. How am I supposed to know what to make if I can't look at the stock? He was just a big a-hole. He used to run an ad all summer long looking for welders because he would go through 9 welders in a week when things were busy! He fired a guy and hired him back the same day because he had such a hard time finding welders that hadn't heard of the shops reputation. The really sad part is he sold out to a large energy company for millions. , i know the type. i had a boss similar. my coworker used to tell me, " karma is going to give this guy cancer in his balls, or make his airplane fall out of the sky". I don't think either has happened though. And to top it off, this guy was a heroin addict living out of a back of a station wagon w/ his wife in the 70s. After his release from prison, his dad helped him get started he hired some of his fellow inmates, and he made his own from there. Belive it or not, they were loyal to him. This cat was an efficient operator. He didn't let anything slide. No kidding he monitored the amount of rolls of toilet paper being used in the bathroom. He had every other light bulb removed from ceiling to save on elect. No exaggeration. He was this short red headed guy w/ that puckered scarred face addicts get. He was quite the operator, I must hand him that. I learned a few attributes from the guy, and its the only job i was ever fired from, and i deserved it.Last edited by 123weld; 03-26-2015 at 02:39 AM.
Reply:i will say I'm throughly not impressed with their support though. called the factory to see about getting a factory option after the fact. They said i had to deal with the the dealer in socal.
