Has anyone on here bought a 4 speed H F woodcutting bandsaw?Item #32208Anything good to say about it.I own their 4 x 6 metal cutting bandsaw and it's great for what I paid for it, no problems what so ever with it. I have owned it for 3 yrs and cut a ton of metal on it using a bi-metal blade. ThanksDoing what I like
Reply:I've owned one for about 2-3 years. The original blade sucks, but it works quite well if you get a good blade for it. They offer ball bearing blade guides as an upgrade for the nylon guides that come with it. I put them on and found that they don't fit without some grinding. The instructions for assembling the base aren't very helpful either.Sort of sounds like I don't like it, but I really do. For the money, it's a great tool! You can buy better blades from Grizzly.
Reply:Thanks SteveI've been looking in the Grizzly book for blades. They have a Carbide tip blade for it I bet that's one bad blade.I might try one of those to do resawing with about 3tpi .Doing what I like
Reply:A buddy of mine has that saw and I've hooked him up with a quick release tension lever setup for it. He didn't see much reason for the 4spd setup once he had it running, so he converted it over to single speed. Give me a yell if you have any specific questions, I've helped many guys out with problems with that saw.I also help moderate www.bt3central.com and that saw is regarded by many as a very good bang for the buck. The grizzly G0555 gets the popular vote, but down and dirty gotta have a decent BS for cheap dough, the HF wins hands down.If you have any questions about this saw, you'll find plenty of info over there and the guys are always quick to lend a helping hand.Another thing, for blades I only shop at www.suffolkmachinery.com for the Timberwolves. I'd have to say that probably 70% to 80% of our forum members buy these as well and they are very highly regarded for quality and service. If it ain't broke.. don't fix it!!!... but you can always 'hop it up'
Reply:Thanks for the info, Thom!
