Has any one used one of these boxes to weld pipe with, using stick process. Needing too know basic temperature settings for root (1/8 th 6010). Hot pass (1/8 th 6010) and capping with 3/32 lo hy. Any advice would be appreciated. Will be on a 6g position carbon steel. Thank you~1987 Lincoln Sa-200~~1978 Miller Big 40~ (restored) ~and everything inbetween~
Reply:i use mine on pipe.    its no diff than anything else, i cant say a setting, as all gaps and fits differ, everybody got there own way.    what i can say, is keep setting on stiff.    don't ever use soft for anything.    also being the rheosatat is so sensitive and small, and is illy labled for setting, take a fine point pen, and carefully scribe four lines b/t each set of digits on the dial.    that will give you 5 amp incrument marks, so you can reference/reset amperage easier

Reply:No body can tell what heat to run but yourself.
