Hoping someone can help me with this. The guy using it said he heard a pop, then it stopped welded, smelt burnt and it displayed HEL P-6 on the machine. I took the side panels off, see attached pictures. Currently wired for 460V, I checked the supply and it's coming out at about 481V.John 3:16(2) Miller Pheonix 456(2) Millermertic 252Dynasty 210DXHobart 210MVPDoringer D350 SA Cold SawScotchman 350LT Cold SawWebb 10x50 MillWebb 15x40 LatheGeka Bendicrop Ironworker
Reply:I took the cover off the top, and the board that's up there is definitely cooked. A capacitor blew, and there's a resistor right by it that is now completely missing. I found a relatively cheap replacement ($250) for it, but I just was hoping to get some more insight on this. Do the boards usually fail on their own, or does something else usually cause them to fail? As far as I can tell by visual inspection, the rest of the machine looks pretty good, but I have no way to test the IGBT.John 3:16(2) Miller Pheonix 456(2) Millermertic 252Dynasty 210DXHobart 210MVPDoringer D350 SA Cold SawScotchman 350LT Cold SawWebb 10x50 MillWebb 15x40 LatheGeka Bendicrop Ironworker

Reply:For what it's worth to anyone who is interested, I took the IGBT's off and really couldn't figure out how to test them. I found a video on Google but my results were not consistent with the video. So I took my chances and just put the new board in and all is working great now.John 3:16(2) Miller Pheonix 456(2) Millermertic 252Dynasty 210DXHobart 210MVPDoringer D350 SA Cold SawScotchman 350LT Cold SawWebb 10x50 MillWebb 15x40 LatheGeka Bendicrop Ironworker
