Since i now own a Everlast PowerUltra 206pi. I thought it would make a great video set testing each of the processes. Ive always wanted a plasma so thats what i started with. Reply:You need to learn correct cutting technique for plasma before making a video.   Angle of cut is totally wrong as well as travel speed.  Only watched a brief part of it.   Also you are trying to sever, not cut.    PROPANE BOTTLE FOR A CUTTING STAND.  Don't suppose you are related to Danny?Sent from my SM-T377V using TapatalkLast edited by soutthpaw; 03-04-2018 at 10:51 AM.Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250

There are a number of You Tubers that earn a living by making videos and collecting the royalties. The funny thing is that viewers seem to accept these videographers / hackers as experts. Kind of takes a little something away from those that are posting good informational / educational videos....   Jim Colt   Hypertherm

Reply:Ouch!  Sad but true.  Capitalism at it's best.  It is actually great return per advertising dollar due to a captive target audience.  Companies also pay a monthly retainer in many cases for the YouTube person to maintain the review and videos on the site.  Sent from my SM-T377V using TapatalkTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:Free plasma cutter? I'm sure not aware of that. But if you are talking about ChuckE2009, then yes, he does well with his extremely large following on YouTube. He has worked at a number of educational trade shows (such as Skills USA and a few farm shows) where the crowds line up to chat with him. I guess if you call that getting something free (working for it) then you may be right.  The gouging videos were done in Texas at his shop with a Powermax85 that is a demo unit that belongs to one of our Texas sales reps. When the video was done...it went back in his truck!   While some do not like his style, ChuckE2009 motivates the young crowds and gets them very interested in hands on work for a living.    Jim Colt  Hypertherm   Originally Posted by Brand XYou mean just like Chuckie Cheese  gouging video's,  with his free Hypertherm plasma cutter?

Spending $900 on a plasma cutter combo unit before you even have a proper work surface makes zero sense, even IF your propane tanks are full of water. Trust me, at this rate you are not going to be the next Youtube millionaire.
Reply:To add to that I have never owned or used a plasma cutter until that video as im sure alot of you can tell. I didnt think their was much to it but i guess i was wrong need to learn alot more about plasma and a hell of alot about tig welding. Reply:Yeah,I use a YouTube ad-blocker or two. Same for Facebook. Some sites will detect as much, and ask that they be disabled while visiting.I have a YouTube Channel too, but only for non-monetized and personal sharing, so I never ask for or have any motivation to have people subscribe to or like the Channel at all. Of course, my videos aren't too popular, as I don't try to keep them especially brief, and I'll often express an anti-statist sentiment, which is alienating to many. But I have fun with it all the same. And I suspect that MafiaCustomz is doing much the same with his YouTube Channel and newfound plasma cutting ability.Wheeee, welding is fun!

Reply:Brand X,   Just to set you straight!   The first time we ever saw ChuckE2009 was online.....he was a 17 or 18 year old Ohio farm boy that had saved his money and ordered a Powermax45. The video was really clever showing the true excitement of a 17 year old with a new toy. He pulled everything out of the box, ditched the instruction manual and did a decent cut. He showed the skills that only someone that had used metal fabricating equipment (oxy-fuel, welding, etc.) in the past (pretty much every farm kid)would have.Hypertherm did not give the Powermax45 to him...in fact we contacted him around 2 years later and invited him for a tour of Hypertherm (yes, we paid for his airfare, meals and his hotel room), where he shot a completely unscripted rather lengthy two part video of Hypertherm's manufacturing facilities in NH. Since then we have supplied him with a couple of plasma cutters (a Powermax30XP and a Powermax45XP) and asked him to use them and post videos of his thoughts. Never a script, never a second of editing by Hypertherm. Great videos from someone with enough learned knowledge to provide potential new users enough info to make their own decisions.Today ChuckE 2009 is in his early 20's, has a great business going and continues to make videos that get better with his age!  On Videos....I personally think I would rather read a manual to learn how to do things, however when the check engine light came on recently on my wifes car...I plugged in the code reader and it told me that the evaporative sensor was bad. I had no idea where it was located....so a quick google got me to a short video of the exact same model car, showed the location and the way to disconnect the complicated electrical connector and replace the sensor ($17 at Autozone) in about 5 minutes. The dealer had quoted $350. Yeah, I'm starting to like videos!  Jim Colt Originally Posted by Brand XNope is was with a 45 machine, and not a clue one how to do it.. I have been debating a 60i or 45XP, the only reason I like the 45XP is my consumable stash now has gotten huge for Hypertherm, plus the gouging and marking might come in handy some day.The specs on the 45XP look better to run on my generators for cut power, and I have been really happy how my 85 has performed long term on the plasma table. Damn did I just become a Hypertherm fan boy? Don't tell anyone, next thing you know I will be making YouTube videos!
